【Traditional Japanese Craft: The Wajima Lacquer Wristwatch】
At the 2011 Tokyo International Watch Fair & International Jewellery Tokyo, a new watch was unveiled that draws inspiration from traditional Japanese Wajima lacquerware.
These lacquer items come in two motifs: Mount Fuji And Cherry Blossoms, and Mount Fuji And Wave. The designs are etched in gold on a black lacquer base.
The wave design brings to mind The Great Wave off Kanagawa, Hokusai’s world-famous woodblock print from his Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji series.
The watch body is stainless steel, and the glass is sapphire crystal.
The movement is a made-in-Japan, self-winding caliber we call The Artisan.
The band is genuine crocodile leather, and has a buckle.
Diameter: approx. 38.5 mm
Thickness: approx. 11.5 mm
Weight: 74 g
Case: Stainless Steel
【Manufactured in Japan】
Each design is individually handcrafted by lacquer painters and artisans as it is ordered. From the time of your order, please allow approximately one month for manufacture and delivery.
