Two exhibitions you will want not to miss right now in Tokyo. First, the beautiful Okaya wood craft exhibition in the B1 level of bookshop Maruzen located on the opposite side of the Takashimaya department store not far from Nihonbashi.

I hope to be able and interview Okaya director next week. Okaya workshop is located in Shimane prefecture and uses mostly the strong and heavy persimmon wood in multiple ways. The exhibition ends on April 20th.

Next you will head to Isetan department store in Shinjuku for the Isetan Japan Senses and a dazzling show of various contemporary crafts works around the keywords of wood, lacquer and paper. Here is a tantalizing selection. This one is running until April 19th.
